Overall: I was a
.Net developer for over 10 years using Microsoft .Net and SQL Server. I also
worked on Microsoft data warehouse for 2 years using
SQL: I am very
experience in SQL, I can design great performance database, writing SQL scripts
to identify root cause of either data issue or coding issue. I worked on our
CME project last year, my initial assignment is to help with testing, but later
on, I expand my role to help contractors to tell them the root cause and how to
fix the bug, I also involved to created new ways to generate the report, before
we ran the SQL scripts and copy/paste data to Excel, now they just need to
click a button to refresh the Excel report, it produce consistent and better
look and feel report in just a few seconds and it also eliminate the human
error
SAS: I completed an
online course at SAS web site a couple of years ago; I know I do use SAS studio
to do data loading, analyzing data and produce reports; I never use it at work
before. I believe I should be able to use the tool quickly. Expect 2 weeks to
start writing SAS program, 4-5 weeks to write professional code.
Why: I have been in level 9 for
over 5 years, I am looking forward opportunities to take more responsibilities
and doing more fun work. Since I join TD 8 years ago, my target is to become an
designer or architect.
Weakness: English is
not my first language, it is the major weakness since I moved to Canada over 20
years ago.
Strength: my
strength is my technical skill, I am very experienced in designing and writing
codes. I am able to trouble shooting design or coding issues.
Vision: to spend
more time on the design, but I also want to get involved in doing the code
review to make sure that the team will be creating quality code and following
best practice. And if possible, I can write some code for the team.
Ready: I haven't
talked to my manager yet. We have reorganization last month and I haven't see
my new manager yet. I will talk to him if our conversation turns good.
Our team used to be
4 persons plus another one works 50% of time on Taxonomy. Now we only have 2.5
persons.
I think it will be
ok if you can give my manager 3 weeks to find a my replacement
Manager: I haven't talked to many manager yet; we
had reorganization last month; we were introduced to the new manager, but we
are still under former manager in the connection page. I am planning to talk to
my new manager once I got a chance. All request approvals for example FY20
objective still goes to former manager.
CTS: great position
to be able to work on data warehouse, it is in this job that I realized that my
strength is in data (my strong math and analytical thinking background). and I
also like to work on data.
Taxonomy: great
team, everyone is focusing to get the job done. Also develop my communication
skill because I need to attend a lot of meetings and doing presentation after I
complete the design.
Your team: can you
give me a brief instruction of your team and project? I know that this position
is related to AML, but I would like to know more detail about this job.
How many designer
and developers are in your team? What kind of project do you develop? How many
projects do you maintain?
